We just need a few more people to crew Safety Boats. Sailing is a 2pm start, so you'd be needed from around 1230, and should finish by 5pm (Friday is an hour later).
If you're able to volunteer for any or all of the days, please contact Robert Govier at [email protected] Posted: Monday, 02 July, 2018 The photos taken by Nick Champion at the Craftinsure Merlin Rocket Silver Tiller at Whitstable Yacht Club are now available to view and purchase. Work on the ramp is progressing and on track to be completed in time for Whitstable Week when we will unveil the model in the club house - if you want your name on it, then buy a plank in good time.
We've set the £100 donation per plank but if groups want to club together - cadets, windsurfers, sailing classes and buy one in the name of the relevant group that's fine.
We've still a long way to go to meet our target of £35,000 so if you've been meaning to donate a plank for £100 then don't delay!Having gained a RYA SE area bursary, Ruth successfully completed the course at Datchet. The course to become a L2 Racing Coach is an intense 2-3 days looking at the theory of coaching and applying it in a practical series of on the water exercises.Posted: Thursday, 14 June, 2018 https:// For more information on the series, and the next event at WYC on July 14th and 15th, see https://Posted: Thursday, 07 June, 2018 Looking for an unusual gift? Most of you know that the cost of repairing the ramp has more than trebled and the club has had to borrow money to pay for the work, leaving us short of funds for anything else.No need for dark suits or black ties, unless you want to. After the service, the family will be going for a drink at the Rose in Bloom, Joy Lane, Whitstable and you are very welcome to join them.Posted: Wednesday, 23 May, 2018 Work to restore the ramp will commence on June 18th and is expected to run through until July 27th.Periods of activity will be determined by the tides, but sailing will not be interrupted as work will not take place during weekends. The contractor will establish a small secure compound in the rigging area next to the landward end of the ramp but access to the usual launch areas will be maintained.
